Herbed Goat Cheese Crostini
Make your own herbed goat cheese to serve with crackers or bread. This recipe is great because you can change the herbs and flavors to your taste or based on what you have in your fridge and pantry!
- 8 oz goat cheese cut into 1/4" discs (hint: use floss to cut the goat cheese)
- EVOO (I suggest using a robust olive oil such as our Spanish Picual)
- Fresh dill, minced
- Fresh basil, chopped
- Crushed red pepper flakes
- sea salt
- cracked peppercorns
Add a layer of olive oil oil to the container or dish of your choice. Place a layer of the sliced goat cheese in the oiled container. Top with some of the herbs, salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and continue with another layer of cheese and herbs. Continue to layer until all of the cheese is used and is thoroughly covered with oil and herbs. Cover the container and set aside, at room temperature for an hour or refridgerate for up to 24 hours. Serve at room temeprature with bread or crackers.
