Balsamic Butter Reduction

Balsamic Butter Reduction Recipe by New Canaan Olive Oil

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of Balsamic Vinegar*

1/4 cup of unsalted butter (1/2 stick)

1 shallot finely chopped

1 garlic clove finely chopped

salt & pepper to taste

*our favorite for this recipe is the Black Truffle Balsamic, but you can try any of your favorite dark balsamic flavors for this recipe

Directions:

On medium heat, melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the shallot and garlic and cook for about 1 minute. Whisk in the balsamic and continue to stir as the ingredients reduce for about 5 minutes (it should be gently boiling). Add salt & pepper to taste and mix in right before serving. This is great over baked chicken, vegetables, and mashed potatoes.
