The crust on this pizza is perfectly crisp, with the right amount of chew. Using our Bacon Olive Oil in the dough is a great way to add more bacon flavor.
Ingredients for the dough:
- 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 envelope instant dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (100º F)
- 2 tablespoons Bacon Olive Oil, plus an additional 2 teaspoons
Ingredients for the pizza toppings:
- Your favorite tomato sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Pineapple, diced
- Crispy crumbled bacon
Sift dry ingredients for the dough together. Add the Bacon Olive Oil and water and beat until dough forms a ball. TIP: if the dough is too dry add more warm water, if dough is too sticky add more flour 1 tbsp at a time. Put dough in an oiled bowl (use Bacon Olive Oil) and cover with plastic wrap. For best results let sit overnight. Once dough has risen at least twice its original size, preheat oven to 425º.
On a lightly floured surface knead dough and slice into 2 (if you desire to save some for later or make two pizzas). Place on a baking sheet and roll out dough until its to your desired thickness. The thinner it is the faster it will cook. Dress the pizza with your tomato sauce, and sprinkle on mozzarella and Parmesan to desired amount. Finish dressing the pizza with your desired amount of diced pineapple and the crispy crumbled bacon. Place pizza in oven for 8-14 minutes. You want to make sure the edges have brown to desired brown color, and the middle is cooked.
